Manny Legace has seen himself on the short side of the stick many times over in his professional career, and unfortunately hasn't been able to always bounce back from it. Playing for Detroit for many years, winning a Stanley Cup as a back up in 2002, he floundered his first year as a starter for Detroit against Edmonton, in the first round of the playoffs. Driven from Detroit, he was sent to division rival St Louis and was never quite the same, even as the starter. Now with the rise of Mason, Legace found himself again without a team. November 9th, a few days ago he just signed a 1 year, 500K deal with the Carolina Hurricanes to either back up Cam Ward when he's healthy again, or just be his temporary fill in, to be sent back down to the AHL when he's healthy again. Only time will tell.

Slava Kozlov
Slava Kozlov was an original member of the infamous "Russian 5", back when Scotty Bowman was coaching the Wings. I *believe* it was in 95 when this line debuted, but it could be 96, I'm not entirely certain at this point. Played great with the Wings, won 2 Stanley Cups with us, before being let go in the 2001-2002 season when the Wings became the super team with Hull, Robitaille, Hasek, Fedorov, Datsyuk, Yzerman, Lidstrom...this list goes on and on. Still playing well in Atlanta, I even have him on my fantasy hockey roster right now. Haha

Ryan Kesler

In the horrible midst of the attack he sustained from Jessi Boulerice, I did recieved a nice signed card back from him. Every so slightly closer to recieving part of my set signed. I also set this one after the Canuck playoff run ended, and before the Stanley Cup had been won, so I figuring early May. Recieved it during training camp, so he must have picked up his fan mail and signed it during training camp, giving him something to do. Like him as a player and for what the Canucks do for children, I'm hoping to recieve more of his autographs in the future
Mike Ribeiro

I came across a address for Mike, and was not expecting the fast turn around time from him. I about only a month, Mike signed my card for me and sent it back, especially since it was during training camp and such. I hope that he finds continued success in Dallas, as I feel personally he is a better fit there than with Montreal. But then again, what do I know, i just collect autographs, not a color commentator for OLN or TSN.
I apologize for the crap-tastic photo, i'll try and get a better one up sometime soon.
Andy McDonald

On October 5th, I recieved Andy McDonald. It was about a 5 month wait, including the summer time off, which isn't a big deal, especially since he had a lot of celebrating to do because of his Stanley Cup they won. I'm very happy to see that even though he won Stanley, that he is still signing autographs for fans. It's very nice to see that, including those like me who are trying to complete sets.

David Legwand

It only took about 2 weeks for me to recieve my card back from Mr. Legwand. I sent it to his residence about half an hour away from my house, in a nice neighborhood near Detroit. He was very prompt at his return, and it seemed everyone else recieved their cards back at the same time as me, so he must have signed them at the end of his summer.
Being a big Red Wings fan, I have come to admire our division rivals. And seeing David play at the Joe a few times i have a lot of respect for him. Unfortunatly, Nashville isn't the same team that it used to be, and I do think that Detroit will take the Central Division even easier than it did previously.

Eric Staal

My girlfriend has so kindly let me know that Mr. Eric Staal sent me back my autograph request from the beginning of the summer. I sent it to his family farm, and I just recieved my response, which is ok with me, because a long response is better than no response. He signed 3/3 for my Fleer set, and as soon as these cards come in to my possesion (hopefully either Friday or Saturday) I will post up the pictures of them.

Ilya Bryzgalov

From after my post on Wednesday to just now, I have been out of the country. When I returned home at 9 tonight, I found a letter waiting for me on the table. I looked at the Post Mark and got excited, because it was from Santa Anna, CA. I sent this card right after the Stanley Cup Finals started, hoping to get this mail out before they ended and they'd get them before summer. Don't think they did, but oh well. Ilya was awesome at the start of the play-offs last year for the Ducks, and I think if he were anywhere else, he would be a starter. But alas, I'm happy to have another one to scratch off my list and one step closer to completion. Thanks Ilya, you made one man very happy on this long weekend!

John LeClair

Mail came no more than 20 minutes after I posted. This must be good luck. In today's mailbag besides bills, I pulled just one back. John LeClair had gotten back to me already, and I have to say, signed 2 cards, or from this years Fleer set, and an old Pinnacle one quite nicely. Black Sharpie. Personally I dont think John LeClair gets enough credit where credit is due. This guy played great in Philly, especially on the Legion of Doom line, and is now in Pittsburgh helping these rookies adapt to the NHL. Guys like him and Chris Chelios who take young guys under their wings is just awesome. Props to them.

Mark Stuart

Now, I'll be honest. I dont really know too much about this guy, other than that he's a rookie, and plays for Boston. I found a home address listing for him in Minnesota, and thought i'd give it a go. He signed the card for me in 9 days, and signed it in a nice thick black sharpie. Very happy with what he has done for me, i'll be sure to check him out next season and keep tabs on him.
Kris Draper

Kris Draper, what can I say about this guy? I recieved it today, and waited since the middle of May. It was worth the wait though on him. He only signed one of the two cards that I sent, but I feel this man is one of the most under respected players in the NHL. He plays such a great shut down hockey game, and can nuetralize any stars that he goes up against. Great player, especially in the playoffs. What else can I say about this great two way player that I respect so much? 1 autograph is better than none, and i'm happy he chose the Fleer card to help my collection along.
Sergei Federov

Today after 10 days of waiting, I recieved Sergei Federov's graph in the mail. He returned 3/3 all of which i believe are stamped. It's unfortunate, especially because I'm trying to get as many real auto's as possible for my 06-07 Fleer set, but, what can you do? I was also hoping to get his autograph in a Red Wings Uniform, because it's going into my special plaque I want to create dedicated to the Russian Five that played in Detroit. I have Konstantinov's autograph for that one already, so, 20% there already. But alas, something is better than nothing right now. Worst case scenario from Sergei, I find a certified autograph of him in a Red Wings uni.
